The Russian Soul – A Poem by: G.S. Hague

Russian soul

G.S. Hague

The Russian Soul

It is the wide Russian soul that many seek

Only to be found by the brave not the meek

Like a siren she calls to those who will hear

She will tempt their hearts and then offer a beer

For those who seek but do not find

It just might mean they will lose their mind

To those who are brash and loud

She does not show herself to the proud

She many seem harsh but she’s as soft as winter snow

Gentle as a cool breeze through the trees she may blow

She offers herself only to the humble

For here many faint and stumble

For if you seek the Russian Soul with all your heart

She all always be with you, never apart.
