Thoughts of an Expat – Purity

Purity

Purity

To the lips of a starving woman my mind wanders

Yet it’s my heart that keeps me asunder

Honey is truly the elixir of life

It’s only the beekeeper who knows the bee is his wife

Hills, streams, and forests are a delight to the eye

It’s only the soul that says, “deny”

So where do I say my eye should “affix”

It’s only the devil who likes to play tricks

It’s from the One above who says it’s “Love”

The same One who sent down his “Dove”

Oh the eye can wander but the Spirit is the Key

That truly sees that beauty, “rests in Thee”.
