So this couple was driving through the forest in southeastern Russia videotaped a black kangaroo on the side of the road.

The driver initially thought it was a hare, but his wife insisted it was an exotic animal native to Australia.

As can be seen in the video couple stopped the car and the woman tried to feed the kangaroo with a banana before driving off.

Residents of the Saratov region have previously spotted the stray kangaroo at least twice this year – in spring and summer. It’s believed that the animal could have fled from a private zoo owned by a local businessman.

But this isn’t really all that different from seeing monkeys in winter coats enjoying the snow or sighting a mastodon crossing a river in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug region.

Stranger things have happened in Russia!
